OTC Medicine Safety for the Community
The OTC Medicine Safety Mentoring Project is designed with LifeSmarts students in mind, and based on educational materials produced by Scholastic and the American Association of Poison Control Centers.
The project promotes safe medicine storage, safe use of OTC medicine, and understanding the Drug Facts label. High school students demonstrate leadership by teaching any audience (younger youth, peers, senior citizens, parent groups, clubs, etc.) about over the counter medicine safety. The lesson is easy to adapt to classroom, club, and community settings.
LifeSmarts thanks Kenvue for sponsoring this project.
Use this project with your group, to give back, and to fulfill community service requirements. More information about scholarships and travel stipend opportunities for teams competing in the National LifeSmarts Championship is available in the Coach Memo shared with coaches of those respective teams.
