When are competitions held?
Visit the State Competitions page for details. The online competition generally takes place from mid-September through mid-February. In-person state competitions are held from November through mid-March. The National Championship is held in April.
When and where are the in-person competitions held in my state?
State competition locations and dates vary by state, and take place from November 1 to mid-March. Check out your state LifeSmarts program page for more information.
My state does not have a coordinator. May I still compete online?
Yes. All teams that complete the online qualification quizzes before the deadline will be invited to take a special TeamSmarts quiz to determine the state champion team. The team with the highest score will be invited to represent your state at the National LifeSmarts Championship.
What are the rules for state in-person competitions?
Please see Pages 13-15 of the Coach’s Guide for general state rules and regulations. Check with your state coordinator for specific state information.
Is there any advance information available about LifeSmarts Nationals?
The National Consumers League hosts the annual LifeSmarts National Championship in a major city each spring. Please check here for current information.
My team has many students who qualified for the in-person state competition. Which students can compete?
Coaches with many players competing on one online team may choose from among all qualifying students to form the 4- or 5-person team that will compete live.
