LifeSmarts is a acomprehensive consumer education program that is free to middle school and high school students and educators. LifeSmarts teaches the consumer literacy skills needed to succeed in today’s marketplace. The program covers: Personal Finance, Consumer Rights & Responsibilities, Technology, Health & Safety and the Environment. The LifeSmarts program follows the standard academic year with competition running from September to April.
Student teams, with the support and guidance of an adult coach, begin competition online. The highest-scoring online teams are invited to an in-person live state competition, and teams that win their state competitions are invited to attend the national LifeSmarts championship, where the ultimate champion is crowned.
Special opportunities exist for FBLA and FCCLA Chapters, and 4-H teams.
