LifeSmarts to award 14 scholarships this spring
This spring there are three separate post-secondary scholarship opportunities for high school-aged LifeSmarts participants, and 14 scholarships will be awarded to outstanding students before the season is officially over. Please share this information with students who should apply:
- Our partnership with UL encourages LifeSmarts students to becomeSafety Smart Ambassadors and share meaningful safety and environmental messages with younger students in their communities. Eight $1,000 scholarships will be awarded in April 2018. Scholarship applications are due April 13.
- The LifeSmarts OTC Medicine Safety Mentoring Project was created this year with support from Johnson & Johnson Consumer Inc. to promote safe medicine storage, safe use of OTC medicine, and understanding the Drug Facts label. High school students demonstrate leadership by teaching 5th and 6th graders and their families about medicine safety. The lesson is easy to adapt to classroom, club, and community settings. Five $1,000 scholarships will be awarded in June 2018. Scholarship applications are due May 31.
- Do you know a stand-out student who has made an impact by giving back to the community? Nominate him or her for the Sarah Weinberg LifeSmarts Memorial Scholarship. One $500 scholarship will be awarded to a LifeSmarts participant who demonstrates a commitment, like Sarah did, to volunteer service work. Nominations are due April 13. Nominate a student here.
